Stretch of major Elk Grove road to be closed all next week for railroad repairs, city says
Railroad repairs will fully close a stretch of a major Elk Grove road next Monday through Friday, the city said in a news release.
Elk Grove-Florin Road will be closed to through traffic between Bond and Sheldon roads continuously starting Monday morning with an estimated reopening time of 6 p.m. Friday, March 29, according to the release. Access will be maintained for property owners and others needing to get to businesses in the affected stretch, the city says.
The 24-hour-a-day closure includes pedestrian traffic and emergency vehicles.
The work is a scheduled repair of concrete paneling at the railroad crossing. It will be performed by Union Pacific crews, Elk Grove officials said.
Traffic will be diverted, with the advised detour rerouting to Waterman Road.
Anyone with questions regarding the maintenance can call the city’s public works hotline at 916-687-3005.
