Southbound Highway 65 closed near Lincoln after fatal big-rig crash

Lanes of Highway 65 are blocked Friday afternoon after a fatal crash just west of Lincoln.

Southbound Highway 65 is closed at the intersection with Nelson Road with no estimated time of reopening due to a “serious crash,” Caltrans said in a tweet.

According to the California Highway Patrol incident log, the collision involved a vehicle rear-ending a big rig at about 1:15 p.m., resulting in at least one fatality.

Traffic is being diverted onto Nelson Road, with delays expected in the area.

No other details were released.
