Long delays are continuing on Highway 50 in East Sacramento during Wednesday morning commute hours after a multi-vehicle crash blocked two lanes of traffic for more than a half-hour between Watt Avenue and Bradshaw Road.

A three-vehicle collision reported just before 6:45 a.m. continued to block the two left lanes until about 7:20 a.m., when the lanes were cleared, according to the California Highway Patrol incident log. One patient was transported from the scene by fire personnel, according to the incident log.

Residual delays from the collision are likely, as Caltrans live traffic cameras showed eastbound traffic gridlocked all the way past the 51st Street exit in Sacramento as of 7:20 a.m.

Westbound Highway 50 also appeared bumper-to-bumper in the area of the collision, traffic cameras showed. Congestion appeared heaviest in both directions at Watt Avenue.
