These Sacramento light rail stations will close for construction. Here’s where and when
Construction along Sacramento Regional Transit’s gold line will bring another round of temporary shutdowns to certain rail stations.
Both the 48th Street and 39th Street stations will close for a couple of days in February so overnight crews can modify the height of station platforms, according to RT. Remember: Fare machines and card readers may not work while stations are closed.
The 59th Street rail station temporarily closed for construction earlier this month. The entire gold line rail service will be updated by 2024.
After the upcoming shutdowns, expect more light rail closures along the gold line each weekend. Closures will be announced in advance, according to RT.
Here’s what you need to know about the temporary light rail closures coming to Sacramento as soon as this weekend.
Upcoming light rail station closures in Sacramento
The 48th Street rail station will stop running this weekend so crews can demolish the current platform and pour new concrete, but loud construction noises could start Tuesday.
From Saturday to Sunday, the station will be shut down to residents. Instead, a bus service will run between the 29th Street and Power Inn rail stations.
Light rail service will resume Monday.
39th STREET STATION CLOSURE
The 39th Street station will shut down at 7:30 p.m. on Friday ahead of the next scheduled weekend closure. A bus service will run between the 29th Street and 48th Street stations.
While the 39th Street station is closed From Saturday Feb. 25 to Sunday, Feb. 26, the bus service will pick riders up at the 39th Street station and make stops between the 29th Street and Power Inn stations.
Normal service will resume on Feb. 27.
