Summer road construction in El Dorado Hills is expected to affect traffic flows for motorists headed for Highway 50.

Construction crews plan to close the southbound lane of Silva Valley Parkway between Clarksville Road and Tong Road from June 8 through Aug. 11, according to El Dorado County officials. Crews plan to install water and sewer lines.

Southbound traffic on Silva Valley Parkway will be detoured onto Clarksville Road and reconnect to Silva Valley Parkway south of Highway 50, according to the county. Highway-bound traffic on Tong Road must turn left onto Silva Valley Parkway.

“Motorists are also advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work zone to arrive at their destinations on time or use alternate routes to avoid the construction area,” El Dorado County wrote in a statement.

Construction is expected to take place between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., according to the county. The southbound lane will remain closed at all times.

The county advised drivers to watch for large trucks and pay attention to flaggers when present.

“The county sincerely appreciates the cooperation and patience of motorists that use this roadway, and we apologize for any inconvenience as a result of the work,” El Dorado County wrote in a statement.
