Roadwork on I-5 to affect traffic to Sacramento International Airport
Roadwork and off-ramp closures on Interstate 5 will affect traffic heading to Sacramento International Airport over the next few days.
Caltrans planned to close one lane on northbound I-5 leading to the airport and the Airport Boulevard offramp from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Saturday, according to a press release from the Sacramento County Department of Airports. Both will close again at the same time on Monday.
Laurie Slothower, the communication and media officer for the department, said travelers should plan on leaving for the airport 30 minutes early if their flight times coincide with the roadwork.
Airport visitors are encouraged to check for construction updates through Caltrans District 3’s Twitter and Facebook accounts.
