A Texas police officer responding to a recent loud music complaint didn’t break up the party.

He joined it, teaching youngsters taking part in a dance program how to salsa.

Leslie Sapp of San Antonio posted the story and video to Facebook. A neighbor had called police to complain about loud music from her back yard being played for the NXG Dance Crew, in which Sapp’s daughter participates.

“Instead of shutting it down or even interrupting, the officer asked to play a song and then his song came on, and well, the video speaks for itself,” Sapp told television station KSAT.

The officer stepped up to demonstrate the proper way to salsa dance, dancing with Sapp’s daughter, and posed for photos with the dance crew.

“As a parent, especially these days, there is a lot of negativity in the world when it comes to cops, and he broke that stereotype,” Sapp told KSAT.

The Facebook video has been viewed nearly 600,000 times, and Sapp’s post has received 3,000 likes and 5,400 shares.
