A Montana man is dead after falling in the Beartooth Mountains.

The Billings Gazette reports that Benjamin Fern Tesseneer died Saturday when he fell 2,000 feet during a skiing trip, according to the Park County Sheriff’s Office in Cody, Wyo. Tesseneer, 19, and his sister climbed up a steep close to Glacier Lake. Tesseneer continued to ascend after his sister stopped.

A ski patrol official tried to give Tesseneer CPR but it was unsuccessful. The sheriff’s release said he died of trauma to the head and chest.
