Aldi customers pounce on robbery suspect in pile-up caught on camera
Customers of an Aldi store in Indiana tackled and apprehended a man in a huge pileup on Aisle 4, who police said was robbing the store.
Thomas Powell, 36, entered the store on the evening of October 6, 2017, wearing a mask, The Times of Northwest, Indiana, reported. He demanded money from the cashier and implied he had a weapon in his pocket, police told the newspaper.
By the time officers arrived, five or six individuals were holding Powell on the floor - the actual aisle of the scrum is unknown - as seen in a video released by police. All the money was recovered at the scene, The Times reported.
