Mom tells her daughter she’s heading to spa — then vanishes, California family says
A Southern California mother has been missing since late November, when she reportedly told family she was going on a spa day trip to San Diego but disappeared.
Izetta Burney, a 53-year-old from Victorville, was last seen in the San Bernardino County city on Nov. 24, according to a missing person report published by California’s Department of Justice.
State officials said anyone with tips should contact the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department by phone at (760) 552-6800, referencing case number 071903640.
“She is driving a black 2008 four door BMW with California license plate number 7EXG207,” the missing person report said.
Burney went missing after telling her daughter she was driving to San Diego for a spa day — and though Burney called her daughter to say she was coming home to Victorville, she never returned, FOX 5 San Diego reports.
A friend of the family said Burney’s credit cards haven’t been used since she went missing and calls to her cell phone calls go directly to voicemail, according to the TV station.
The missing person report describes Burney as a 5-foot-11-inch tall black woman weighing roughly 200 pounds.
Burney was last seen wearing a black top and black spandex pants, and she has a tattoo reading “Izetta” on her right arm, authorities said.
