Boyfriend didn’t celebrate her new job. So she tried to set him on fire, AZ cops say
Kathy Jones, 46, was celebrating getting her new job at Subway with two Smirnoff Ice drinks and two drinks mixed with rum, according to Fox8.
She got upset because her boyfriend wouldn’t celebrate with her, so she tried to light him on fire, according to police, KPNX reported.
Police arrested the Arizona woman and she faces charges of “aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and criminal damage,” according to Fox8.
Jones doused Jason Davis in lighter fluid and threw lit matches at him to set him on fire, according to court documents, Arizona Family reported. Davis said the situation was “scary” but that he’s sticking by his girlfriend of almost six years.
“She just got kind of drunk or whatever, and then we had an argument, and then she tried to throw some of that stuff on me, and then stuff happened,” Davis told Arizona Family.
Davis locked her out of the house as he called 911 and waited for police to arrive, according to KPNX. Jones then damaged the door frame, according to court documents. Her bail was set at $15,000.
