A video shows a shopper using a cart with pinpoint accuracy to take down a shoplifting suspect as police were in hot pursuit.

Police in Peachtree City, Georgia, released the footage on February 13, 2020 to publicly thank the shopper.

The Peachtree City Police Department said two people attempted to shoplift from a Home Depot store in the city on January 18. As officers chased one of the suspects in a nearby Walmart parking lot, a man shoved his shopping cart into the path of the suspect, who hit the ground.

The suspect was not injured, WSB-TV 2 in Atlanta reported.

It was the first time in his 13 years of police work that he’s seen something like this happen, a police spokesperson told the news station.

Police said on Facebook that they don’t “encourage anybody to intervene in a police situation,” but thanked the man for his “quick thinking and impeccable timing.”
