Universal Studios Hollywood theme park to close because of coronavirus fears

Universal Studios Hollywood will close because of concerns about the coronavirus pandemic.

The California theme park said it will close its gates Saturday and remain shut down until March 28, according to its website.

“The health and safety of our team members and guests is always our top priority,” theme park officials said. “Out of an abundance of caution and in response to the guidance provided by the California Department of Public Health, Universal Studios Hollywood will temporarily close beginning Saturday, March 14.”

Universal CityWalk will remain open during the park closure.

Earlier Thursday, Disneyland announced it was closing until the end of March, McClatchy News reported.
