5,700 pot plants in ‘sophisticated’ warehouse farm are worth millions, Vegas cops say
Las Vegas police found more pot plants than ever before, according to a police news release.
Police say they found more than 860 pounds of pot plants in a warehouse on Wednesday. The 5,700 marijuana plants are valued at $8.6 million, according to police.
“This is the largest indoor marijuana grow operation (based on plant count) within LVMPD’s jurisdiction,” the news release said. “Previously the largest was a 3,244-marijuana plant grow operation in 2013.”
Much of the warehouse was converted into a “sophisticated illegal marijuana grow operation,” according to police.
“LVMPD Narcotics with the assistance of HPD, HSI, DEA, and NLV dismantled the grow to include lighting, ballasts, duct work, chemicals, charcoals filters and all other items associated with a large-scale marijuana grow,” the news release said.
