Aurora borealis treats Washingtonians to colorful light show in the sky
Numerous states saw a glowing show of aurora borealis on Monday night with reports of the colorful phenomenon coming in from New Hampshire, Washington state, and even as far south as Iowa.
Video shared by Skunk Bay Weather shows the sky in Hansville, Washington, a small community on Puget Sound, on Monday night.
The night of Oct. 11 into Oct. 12, 2021, was ideal for skywatchers to take in the aurora borealis, with the NOAA issuing a geomagnetic storm watch, and forecasting a coronal mass ejection (CME) from a solar flare to hit the atmosphere.
