A JROTC instructor accused of sexually assaulting a high school student has been charged, according to Georgia authorities.

Harold Hill, 39, who taught at Wayne County High School in Jesup, was booked on charges of sexual battery and false imprisonment on Oct. 22 and has since resigned, a spokesperson for Wayne County schools confirmed.

Officials said the alleged incident occurred at the school Oct. 19, and Jesup police launched an investigation after school officials alerted them.

Authorities said they’re still investigating the incident and don’t believe any other students were involved.

Jesup is about 65 miles southwest of Savannah.
