Elaborate castle listed for $35M in Connecticut captures the imagination. See why
A majestic structure that looks like something straight out of a fairy tale has hit the real estate market in Woodstock, Connecticut, for $35 million. An elaborate castle that rises 126 feet into the sky is looking to spark the imagination of a new owner.
But this isn’t the first time it’s been on the market.
According to Realtor.com, the 9-bedroom, 7.5-plus-bathroom home has listed before in 2014 for $45 million, the same year it was named the most-viewed home of the year by the website.
The ginormous castle, with its intricate details, sits on 75 acres and comes with a 30-acre pond and, as every good castle should, a moat and bridge.
“This property is an optimal fit for a person who wants a lifestyle change,” the listing agent, John Pizzi, told Mansion Global. “Not an ordinary run-of-the-mill home or estate, something unique and exceptional.”
The interior decor is exactly what one would expect when it comes to a fantasy palace. Features include:
12 fireplaces
Striking entry hall
Massive kitchen
Period architectural doors
Stained-glass windows
Circular bar
Pool
Gated entry
“There are many interior and exterior doors, fireplace mantles, stained-glass windows and other items that were imported from Europe,” Pizzi told Mansion Global.
And if you look closely at the photos, you’ll notice royal crests around the estate.
While it may look like an ancient property straight out of a George R.R. Martin novel, the castle was built in 2010.
