One Michigan woman got quite the surprise after purchasing Powerball tickets on a whim — $1 million.

The Battle Creek resident purchased $2 tickets to play the Powerball after seeing a pop-up for it on the lottery app, a Jan. 6 news release said.

Alma Weimer bought five tickets although she “rarely” played the Powerball, she told the Michigan Lottery.

The 73-year-old matched the five white balls during the Dec. 11 drawing and couldn’t believe her luck when she received a message saying she’d won.

“When I logged on to the app the next morning, there was a pop-up telling me I won $1 million. I thought it was some sort of scam or that my account had been hacked,” Weimer said in the release.

After she saw the pop-up, she called the lottery to confirm.

“I couldn’t believe it,” she said. “It is such an unbelievable feeling.”

Weimer plans to donate to charities and invest her winnings, the release said.
