Daughter listens to her mom’s lottery suggestion — and wins $1.6 million in Michigan
A mom’s suggestion paid off big time when her 37-year-old daughter won over $1.6 million with her Michigan lottery ticket.
The mother and daughter were together at Flappers Café in Lincoln Park on Dec. 18, playing Club Keno, when the winning advice was offered, according to a Jan. 12 Michigan Lottery news release.
“My mom told me that the Fast Cash jackpot was more than $1.6 million and suggested I give that game a try,” the daughter, who chose to remain anonymous, told Michigan Lottery. “I bought a couple tickets and won a few bucks and decided to buy one more with my winnings. That was when I won the jackpot. I was so excited; I really wasn’t sure how to react.”
The daughter called over the bar owner, who then scanned the $10 ticket and confirmed she had won the Lucky 7s Fast Cash jackpot.
“I just couldn’t believe what was happening,” she said.
In total, the daughter won $1,682,998 after listening to mom, according to lottery officials. She plans to use her winnings to buy a new home, pay off her student loans, take her son to Disney World and put the rest in savings.
Lincoln Park is about 10 miles southwest of Detroit.
