Frightening video shows cyclist dragged by car. Now California police seek driver

Frightening video shows a silver Hyundai Elantra rear-end a bicyclist on a Los Angeles street, then continue while briefly dragging the cyclist on the pavement.

The cyclist jumps to his feet and dashes for the sidewalk as the motorist drives away, the video released by the Los Angeles Police Department shows.

Police are seeking the Hyundai driver in what they say was a felony hit-and-run at 4:20 p.m. Jan. 16 on Glendale Boulevard, a news release said.

The cyclist escaped with minor injuries, but his bicycle was wrecked, police said.

The driver headed westbound on Berkley Avenue from Allesandro Street after the crash. The 2012-2016 Hyundai Elantra may have front-end damage and a missing right front hub cap.

Police ask that anyone with information contact Detective Juan Campos at 213-833-3713 or 31480@lapd.online. Anonymous tips can be left at LA Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
