Officers found a severed finger in a man’s wallet after arresting him in Utah, police told multiple news outlets.

The 27-year-old driver was pulled over for a headlight that wasn’t working in Orem this week, KSTU reported.

When police realized he had multiple warrants for his arrest, they detained him, the news outlet reported.

Police found a decaying and bloody finger wrapped in cloth in the man’s wallet, KTVX reported. They smelled something foul when they unwrapped the cloth, the outlet reported.

The finger’s joint was turning green and the “fingernail appeared to be decayed”, KUTV reported police saying.

The man has been booked into the Utah County Jail for his active warrants, including a charge of abuse or desecration of a dead human body, the news outlet reported.
