FBI agent used $13,500 in government cash to bet at Vegas blackjack tables, feds say
An FBI agent has pleaded guilty to gambling on high-limit blackjack in Las Vegas with $13,500 in government funds, federal officials say.
Scott F. Carpenter, 40, of New York faces up to a year in prison on a charge of conversion of government money, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Nevada said in a news release.
In July 2017, the agent visited a high-limit room in a Las Vegas casino following an undercover operation and gambled on blackjack with $13,500 belonging to the United States, prosecutors said.
They did not say whether he lost all the money.
He was visiting Las Vegas with three other New York agents on the five-day investigation.
