Former NFL star Clay Matthews relists glittery California mansion for $28M. Take a look
It was supposed to be their “forever” home, but now former NFL linebacker Clay Matthews and his wife, “Design on a Dime” host Casey Noble Matthews, are waving goodbye to their lavish, 14,021-square-foot Calabasas mansion.
For a second time.
Originally, the couple listed the property for $29.99 million last year but relisted it recently for $27.99 million, Realtor.com says.
The seven-bedroom, 11-bathroom mansion sits on 1.6 acres inside the gated enclave of Estates at the Oaks of Calabasas, a place that A-list celebrities like the Kardashians and Justin Bieber have called home, and is just as dazzling on the outside as it is on the inside.
Perched on a hillside that overlooks the stunning Santa Monica mountains, the French Provincial style estate has attention-grabbing features throughout its chic walls, the biggest being an 800-gallon aquarium in the office/library, The Wall Street Journal reported.
Other amenities, according to the listing on Realtor.com, include:
Double-height foyer
Chef’s kitchen
Outdoor paradise
Oversized pool
Sports court
Atrium
Goldfish pond
Rose garden
Conservatory
Vegetable garden
15-seat movie theater
Wine cellar
Nine-plus car garage
Matthews spent nearly his entire career with the Green Bay Packers, who selected him in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft. With the Packers, Matthews won a Super Bowl, made first-team All-Pro and was a six-time Pro Bowler. At USC, he dominated under head coach Pete Carroll and won three consecutive Special Teams Player of the Year awards.
He was released by the Los Angeles Rams in 2020 after playing a single season with them.
