‘Don’t you say anything,’ Man and clerk share shocked look after huge SC jackpot win
A South Carolina man and a store clerk shared a moment of disbelief as the customer scratched off a $200,000 win at the counter.
The clerk noticed the expression on the man’s face, according to lottery officials, and she asked to see the ticket.
“Don’t you say anything,” the clerk said after looking at his prize-winning ticket,/ according to lottery officials.
“Don’t you say anything either!” the winner responded.
The Spartanburg man had picked up the $5 scratch off at the Hot Spot on Gossett Road, according to lottery officials. He had beat the 1 in 870,000 odds to win the prize.
“It is unbelievable,” he told lottery officials.
The Hot Spot received a $2,000 commission for selling the ticket, according to the South Carolina Education Lottery.
Spartanburg is about 95 miles northwest of Columbia.
