Adorable ‘landmark’ town near Colorado ski resort lists for $6.6M. ‘One of a kind’
Only one hour away from Telluride Ski Resort, one of the top winter vacation destinations in the country, sits the small, picturesque town of Colona, Colorado — a place just waiting for a new owner.
The historic town itself is currently on the real estate market for $6.6 million.
“This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to help write the next chapter of a landmark Colorado town,” the listing boasts.
Yes, the entire town is for sale, according to the listing on Realtor.com. It includes:
- 12 residential lots
- Nine rental homes
- Post office
- Stockyards pavilion
“Colona is located where the Mountains meet the Valley, on HWY 550 between Ridgway and Montrose, a scenic 55 minute drive to Telluride,” the listing describes.
The photos present a striking image of a quiet town that looks straight out of a movie: from its silent snowy banks, to the contrast of deep amber wood against a frosted cloudy sky.
Entire towns aren’t really a new thing the real estate market has seen over the past couple of years. (Could it be all thanks to the hit TV series “Schitt’s Creek”?): In 2021, a seven-acre town by the name of Water Valley listed for $725,000 in Tennessee, McClatchy News reported.
And earlier in March, a deserted village in British Columbia listed for $1.8 million.
