79-year-old dies after he’s hit by car during fight in Arizona parking lot, cops say

A 20-year-old woman struck a man and woman with a car during an argument in an Arizona parking lot, police said.

Anthony Ames, 79, died from his injuries on April 2, the Tucson Police Department said in a news release.

Elaine Vernette Boone is accused of hitting the two before 4:30 p.m. on March 24, police said.

Then Boone left the scene by foot, police said.

The man and woman were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.

Boone was arrested on April 5 on charges of second-degree homicide, aggravated assault with a dangerous instrument, aggravated assault causing serious physical injury and two other outstanding warrants, police said.

Her bail was set at $500,200.
