Man wins second $1M lottery prize after buying ticket at same shop in Massachusetts
A man won his second $1 million lottery prize after buying a scratch off ticket from the same shop he bought another winning ticket at in Massachusetts.
Now, he’s won two $1 million lottery prizes within two years, officials said.
Edward Duarte Jr., of Taunton, set out to pick up a pizza on March 30 but decided on the way to play Massachusetts State Lottery’s “Diamond Millions” instant ticket game at Town Food Mart, a news release said.
He bought a $30 ticket and won a $1 million cash prize before taxes get taken out, according to the Massachusetts Lottery.
In August 2020, Duarte played the state lottery’s “Supreme Millions” instant game at the same Town Food Mart and won his first $1 million prize, the release said.
This time, Town Food Mart will get $10,000 for selling the winning “Diamond Millions” ticket, according to lottery officials.
Taunton is roughly 40 miles south of Boston.
