A man in Colorado has been arrested on accusations of harassing and stalking teens, and police are looking for additional victims, officials said.

A man is accused of harassing teenagers, offering marijuana and pornography, and “making sexually explicit statements,” and there may be additional victims, Colorado police say.

The Fort Collins Police Department received a report in mid-May that an unknown man had approached a group of teens at the Poudre River Whitewater Park, a June 7 news release said. The victims said he “made numerous sexually explicit statements, tried to get one of the teens to smoke his marijuana, and tried to show them explicit material,” police said.

The same week, police also looked into a report of a man who followed a teen and made “sexually explicit statements,” police said. The same man approached the teen at another location the next day, and the teen entered a store, where

an employee called the police, the release said. The man, however, left before police arrived.

Police identified the man accused of harassing the teens as Douglas MacTaggart, 61, the suspect in both cases, according to police.

“These were both extremely unsettling situations, and these victims did an outstanding job providing police with information that led to an arrest,” Assistant Chief John Feyen said in the release. “Everyone deserves to feel safe when they’re out enjoying our community. Obscene interactions like this will not be tolerated.”

MacTaggart was arrested in late May and faces charges of stalking, harassment, promotion of obscene material to a minor, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

As police are concerned there may be additional victims, the department released MacTaggart’s booking photo.

Police ask for anyone with information about the suspect or similar incidents to contact Officer Scott Brittingham at 970-221-6555.
