20-year-old fatally shoots her mom’s boyfriend in violent dispute, WA cops say
A 20-year-old woman is accused of shooting and killing her mother’s boyfriend during a domestic dispute in Washington, authorities said.
Police responded to a neighbor’s call about a 52-year-old man being shot on 30th Street in Anacortes, the Anacortes Police Department said in a Friday, Aug. 26 Facebook post.
The neighbor also said a woman was running toward Commercial Avenue, police said. The woman, however, returned shortly and called 911.
The shooting happened “during a domestic-violence incident involving the woman’s 43-year-old mother and the mother’s boyfriend,” according to police.
The man was taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries, police said. The mother was unharmed.
The 20-year-old woman was arrested and booked into jail “on an investigative hold for first-degree murder,” police said.
Police said they are investigating the incident.
Anacortes is about 80 miles north of Seattle.
