Boy who biked through stop sign is hit by school superintendent, Missouri video shows
A boy biked past a stop sign and was hit by a passing vehicle in Missouri, video shows.
The 12-year-old boy was biking with friends through a neighborhood in Farmington on Tuesday, Sept. 20, KMOV reported.
A doorbell camera captured the collision, posted on Facebook by St. Francois Herald. Partially obscured, the passing Jeep crashes into the biker with a crunch, stopping moments later, video shows. The boy can be seen rolling on the ground, footage shows.
The driver – a local school superintendent – gets out of the car as the boy’s friends rush to him, KMOV reported.
The boy’s mother took him to a hospital to get checked out, the Daily Journal reported.
A report was later filed with the Farmington Police Department, the police chief told KMOV.
Officers said the boy failed to stop at the sign and no charges are being filed against the driver, the Daily Journal reported.
“I’m grateful that the child was not seriously injured,” the superintendent said, according to the Journal. The local school district did not respond to McClatchy News’ request for comment.
Farmington is about 70 miles south of St. Louis.
