Watch bear snatch ‘all the nuggets’ off Florida porch — and skip the Chick-fil-A salad

A man watched as a hungry bear wandered up to his front porch and snatched a Chick-fil-A delivery bag that had been left outside his door.

“All the nuggets,” he can be heard saying in the background of a video shared by the Instagram account @onlyinfloridaa. “Thirty nuggets and a large fry. Poof, just like that.”

The video, taken by Paul Newman in Sanford, Florida, and shared on Instagram on Dec. 14, shows the black bear walking up the front steps of a porch covered in Christmas decorations and sniffing around Chick-fil-A delivery bags before selecting one, picking it up with its mouth and walking away.

“He didn’t want the salad though,” the man can be heard saying as the video.

The video has been played more than 170,000 times. Only in Florida accepts submissions of photos and videos taken from around Florida and shares them across its social media pages.

In a statement, a Chick-fil-A spokesperson offered to replace the part of the customer’s order the bear stole.

“This video was beary surprising!” the statement says. “We aren’t launching ’cubside’ delivery but may consider it. While this guest hasn’t reached out directly to us yet, we’d love to replace their nuggets and waffle fries and pass along a special message from the Cows.”

Sanford is about 25 miles northeast of Orlando.

More than 4,000 black bears live in Florida, according to the Florida Wildlife Commission. In 2021, the agency received 5,726 bear-related calls. The main reason for these calls is general interactions, the agency said.

Between 2002 and 2021, 40% of callers phoned in for this reason, 30% called for bears in the garbage and 12% of bear-related calls were due to property damage. One percent of calls were for public safety incidents.
