Woman was stabbed to death at home in 2014, NC cops say. A suspect was just arrested

An arrest has been made in the 2014 killing of a woman at her home in North Carolina, according to deputies.

Roy Lee White was arrested on Tuesday, Feb. 7, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. White, 50, was charged with felony accessory after the fact of first-degree murder in connection with the death of Tammy Sellers Holland.

Holland, 50, was found stabbed to death Oct. 28, 2014, inside her home in Trinity when a neighbor who was unable to make contact with her went to the home to check on her, deputies said. The neighbor peered inside Holland’s window and saw her in the living room.

An autopsy revealed that Holland was stabbed multiple times, causing her death, which was ruled a homicide, according to deputies.

Detectives said that White identified Florence Elizabeth Keene as Holland’s killer. White and Keene — who died in 2018 — were “reportedly married” at the time of the incident, and they were Holland’s neighbors and “associates.”

White and Keene were questioned by detectives after Holland was found dead, according to deputies. White’s arrest comes after a three-year cold case investigation.

At the time she was killed, Holland worked at Elizabeth’s Pizza in Thomasville and was described as a “devoted employee and friend; a kind person beloved by her colleagues,” deputies said.

“She was [a] sweet lady and will never be forgotten,” one person wrote on Facebook.

Randolph County is about 80 miles west of Raleigh.
