Husband and wife ‘spilled coffee everywhere’ when they saw Virginia lottery prize
A husband and wife “spilled coffee everywhere” when they saw their lottery prize, according to Virginia Lottery officials.
Russell Turner and his wife were on their porch “drinking coffee and scratching some Virginia Lottery tickets” when they saw that they’d won $100,000, according to a March 10 news release.
“I showed my wife, and she didn’t believe me,” Turner told lottery officials, according to the release. “We were doing the winner’s dance on my porch. We spilled coffee everywhere!”
Turner bought his ticket at a 7-Eleven in Virginia Beach, according to the release.
He plans to use the money to “take care of his family,” the release says.
Turner’s winning ticket was part of the $326,000,000 Fortune game — a scratch-off game that features a top prize of $5 million, the release says. The second prize is $100,000. Turner is the second player to claim that prize, the lottery said. Ten $100,000 prizes remain.
