Raymond Harrington isn’t new to big lottery wins.

In 2020, the lottery player took home a $125,000 prize after a drawing of the Virginia Lottery’s Pick 4 game, according to a March 21 news release from lottery officials. Recently, Harrington found himself with another lucky ticket.

While at a Rite Aid in Norfolk, the Virginia Beach resident bought a Diamond Bonus Crossword ticket, officials said.

“The scratchers were calling out to me,” Harrington told officials.

After purchasing his ticket, Harrington started scratching.

“I scratched it, and I thought I’d won maybe $200 or so,” he told officials. His prize turned out to be much bigger.

Harrington won a $300,000 top prize, according to officials. He said he plans to invest the money.

Virginia Beach is about 110 miles southeast of Richmond.
