‘You did not.’ Husband texts stunned wife about huge lottery win after buying coffee
A man in Virginia went to the store to grab the morning paper but had some surprising news of his own to tell his wife once he got home.
Paul Miller, who lives in Shenandoah County, went out on a Monday morning to buy his usual coffee, newspaper and lottery tickets before coming home and doing some chores, he told lottery officials in an April 5 news release.
Miller scratched off the three Crossword Connect 5X tickets after finishing those chores and realized he won $100,000, according to lottery officials.
The man said he texted his wife right away that he won the lottery and she answered, “You did not!”
Miller bought his lucky ticket at the Brook Store in Toms Brook, lottery officials said. The odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 1,224,000.
Shenandoah County is about 100 miles west of Washington, D.C.
