Store manager dreamed of new job — now he can get one thanks to big NC lottery prize
Charles Javins works as a retail store manager, but he’s been dreaming of a new job.
Now, thanks to a big win in the North Carolina Education Lottery, he’ll finally get his wish, lottery officials said in an April 24 news release.
“I’m using this money to kind of springboard me out of that business altogether,” said Javins, who won $100,000 from a 200X The Cash scratch-off ticket.
Javins, who lives in Fayetteville, said he hopes to get back into the automotive industry.
“I was a service manager at one time. So, I’d like to get back to that,” he told officials.
After taxes, Javins took home $71, 259 on April 24, when he claimed his prize, according to officials.
“I don’t have too much need for anything else but I did want to change careers,” he said. “I want to send my parents on a vacation too. Those were the two important things.”
Javins bought his ticket from 7-Eleven in Gastonia, about 20 miles west of Charlotte.
