Worried husband ran to his screaming wife — but she’d just won huge Michigan jackpot
A 63-year-old woman was bummed when she realized somebody had won a jackpot prize in Michigan.
“The possibility of myself being the jackpot winner didn’t even cross my mind,” the Tuscola County woman, who chose to remain anonymous, told lottery officials.
But she had bought 10 tickets for the April 30 Fantasy 5 drawing, and hoped she had won at least a few dollars, according to a May 15 news release from the Michigan Lottery.
So, she signed into her Michigan Lottery account to check if she won anything.
That’s when she realized she was the lottery player who won the Fantasy 5 jackpot prize.
“When the pop up came up showing my $417,233 Fantasy 5 prize, I started screaming,” she said when claiming her prize. “My husband ran upstairs because he thought something was wrong. When I showed him how much I’d won, he was in disbelief.”
She plans to use the prize money to buy a new vehicle and invest, according to the release.
The winning ticket — with numbers 08-14-30-37-39 — was bought online at MichiganLottery.com.
Tuscola County is about 100 miles north of Detroit.
