Baby dies after she’s left in car for hours while parents were at church, Florida cops say
A baby died after her parents left her in a car for hours while they went to church, according to Florida police.
Palm Bay police officers responded to a report of an unconscious infant in a car at about 1 p.m. May 28, according to Michael Roberts, a public information officer with the Palm Bay Police Department.
The 11-month-old had been left in the car for about three hours while her parents attended a church service, Robert’s wrote in an email.
The infant was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead, Roberts said.
Roberts did not know how hot it was inside the car.
The high temperature in Palm Bay on May 28 was 86 degrees, according to AccuWeather.
No charges have been filed, and the investigation is ongoing, Roberts said.
Palm Bay is about 75 miles southeast of Orlando.
