Grandma reuses grandson’s birthday on lottery ticket after big win — and wins again
Nearly a year ago, Victoria Sadler won $25,000 in the Maryland Lottery after she used her grandson’s birthday to pick her numbers.
Recently, the grandmother decided to try her luck with the numbers again — and it paid off big time, according to an Aug. 28 news release from the Maryland Lottery.
Sadler had just claimed a second-chance prize from the lottery headquarters when she decided to play a Pick 5 ticket, lottery officials said. So she headed to a Royal Farms in Baltimore and placed a $1 straight bet for the Aug. 10 drawings.
She used her grandson’s birthday again, and she won a $50,000 prize, she told officials.
“When I realized I won, my jaw was on the floor! I was so happy, I couldn’t believe it,” Sadler said in the release.
The 59-year-old from Nottingham told officials she plans to treat her family to a trip to Walt Disney World and save the rest.
Nottingham is about 10 miles northeast of Baltimore.
