Four coworkers of an asphalt company died after being involved in a Labor Day crash, according to Michigan authorities and news reports.

The four men, whose ages range from 18 to 35, worked for K&B Asphalt Sealcoating, Inc. They were traveling to a job site before the Monday, Sept. 4, crash in Lenawee County, WTVG reported.

Michigan State Police said the men were traveling in a Ford F-150 when they were struck by a Ford F-250. The driver and two passengers of the F-150 died at the scene, and an additional passenger died at a hospital, according to state police.

The four men killed have not been publicly identified.

WLEN reported hundreds of people gathered outside K&B Asphalt Sealcoating in Adrian on Tuesday for a candlelight vigil.

“My heart aches for each and every one of them,” Rocky Wingfield, the owner of the company, told WTVG.

The driver of the F-250, who state police said is at fault for the crash, was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

HCW Construction said in a Facebook post the fellow contractors were “4 good men.”

“Yesterday was a devastating day for K&B Asphalt, the families and all the 1st responders involved in that unimaginable accident,” Barbie Adkins said in a Facebook post Tuesday.

Adrian is about 70 miles southwest of Detroit.
