A nurse and regular lottery player used his trusty set of lucky numbers in the Maryland lottery and took home a big prize — for the second time.

The anonymous player, who gave lottery officials the alias “Mr. Happy” to tell the story of his win, bought his winning ticket while on a break from work Aug. 16, lottery officials said in a Sept. 7 news release.

The 58-year-old grandfather picked up coffee and some snacks along with a $6 Bonus Match 5 ticket for that night’s drawing from the State Line Market in Silver Spring, just north of Washington D.C., officials said.

He checked the ticket that night after work and found out he’d won the top $50,000 prize, officials said. It was the 23rd top-prize ticket sold in the Bonus Match 5 game this year.

“I scanned the ticket on the Lottery app before heading in the house,” he said in the news release. “When it read ‘See Lottery,’ I knew I won big because that’s what it read the last time I won.”

He claimed his prize at the Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore, where he told officials he’ll use his winnings to pay for his sons’ tuition, his mortgage and other bills.
