A Michigan woman has played lottery games routinely, but her latest win left her in a state of shock.

The 61-year-old woman from Macomb County said she purchased the Magnificent 7s scratch-off ticket at a gas station in Sterling Heights.

What awaited her was one of the game’s three $2 million prizes.

“When I scratched this ticket and saw I’d won $2 million, it wasn’t clicking in my head that I really won,” she told lottery officials. “I just stared at the ticket in disbelief waiting for it to sink in, but it still doesn’t feel real.”

The Magnificent 7s game costs $20 to play and also offers 63 prizes of $2,000. With the Macomb County woman’s win, there is one remaining jackpot ticket.

The woman, who chose to remain anonymous, recently accepted the one-time lump sum payment of $1.2 million, lottery officials said.

“Winning $2 million is unbelievable and life-changing,” the winner said. “I plan to save my winnings until I decided what I want to do with the money.”

Macomb County is part of the Detroit metropolitan area.
