Child porn shared by elementary students leads to 65-year-old’s arrest, Alabama cops say
A 65-year-old has been charged after authorities say pornographic pictures were shared among grade school students in Alabama.
Timothy Allen Arthur was arrested Oct. 5 and charged with electronic solicitation of a child, according to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities launched an investigation after Bay Minette police got a complaint about child porn being circulated by students at Bay Minette Elementary School, deputies said in a news release.
Officers seized cellphones and handed them over to Baldwin County cybercrimes investigators for processing, according to the release. A forensic analysis uncovered illegal communication between Arthur and a 12-year-old girl, deputies said.
Authorities didn’t say if she was a student at the school.
Arthur spoke with investigators and acknowledged communicating with the child, deputies said. Authorities executed a search of his cellphone and said more charges are possible.

McClatchy News reached out to Baldwin County Public Schools for comment Oct. 6 and was awaiting a response.
Bay Minette is about 35 miles northeast of downtown Mobile.
