‘Distinctly not friend shaped.’ Massive bear stares down photographer in TikTok video
Video shows a massive bear staring down a wildlife photographer in Alaska, and people can’t get over its size.
Brad Josephs filmed the “monster” bear, estimated to be about 1,000 pounds, roaming around gorging on salmon in Katmai National Park & Preserve in Alaska, he said in a Sept. 29 video on his social media accounts.
TikTok video shows the bear staring right at Josephs’ tour group with Natural Habitat Adventures before wandering toward the river, plucking out a fish and biting it in half.
“He just ate the whole thing!” someone from the group exclaimed in the video.
TikTok viewers couldn’t get over the sight — and sheer size — of the massive bear.
“That one is distinctly not friend shaped,” someone joked.
Some said it looked like a Kodiak bear. Josephs explained the tour group was 30 miles from the Kodiak archipelago on the Alaskan peninsula.
“Basically same bears, yes a different subspecies, but very similar in every way,” he said.
“That’s the most bear looking bear I’ve ever seen,” someone else said.
Someone else commented on Josephs’ song choice for the video: “The Imperial March” from “Star Wars.”
“That is the most appropriate song for this Goliath,” someone said.
