Argument between stepfather, stepson turns deadly as one is shot to death, CO cops say
A 19-year-old man was arrested after being accused of shooting his stepdad to death, Colorado police said.
Witnesses told Aurora officers who arrived at an apartment complex in the Southlands neighborhood that the “shooting stemmed from an argument between the man” and his stepson, later identified by police as Mark Sisneros, according to an Oct. 23 news release.
Police did not say what the argument was about.
Upon arriving, officers found the 38-year-old man with a single gunshot wound, police said.
Officers tried to save the stepfather until medical personnel arrived at the scene, but the man died at a hospital from his injuries, police said.
The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office will identify him, police said.
Sisneros “left the apartment after the shooting” but was arrested when he came back, officers said.
He was booked into the Aurora jail on a second-degree murder charge, police said.
The investigation remains ongoing, and police ask anyone with information to call 720-913-7867, the release said.
Aurora is about 10 miles east of Denver.
