Two people are dead after two semitrucks crashed head-on in Indiana, deputies say.

Deputies were called to the scene around 8:10 p.m., Monday, Oct. 30, according to a news release from the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

When they arrived, they found two semitrucks on fire after they crashed into each other, deputies said.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze, and officials found the drivers dead, deputies said.

Officials have identified Ranjeet Benipal, 30, of Fresno, California, and Kevin Barrientos, 31, of Indianapolis as the drivers, according to the release.

Authorities did not say what caused the crash, and they are investigating.

Boone County is about 30 miles northwest of Indianapolis.
