Fire crews in Ohio were busy when downed power lines left multiple vehicles in a car lot on fire.

Crews were called out at about 4:45 p.m. Nov. 6 to the Saunders Motor Company in Perry after reports of downed wires and a fire, according to a Facebook post by the Perry Joint Fire District.

“The incident commander observed a power line down arching and laying across a car that was on fire,” officials said in the post.

The flames spread, catching six vehicles on fire, officials said.

A safety zone was set up since there were live power lines.

“When you start dealing with higher phases, we tend to back off and be a little more reserved with it,” Capt. Tim Sitz told WJW. “It’s much more high-voltage than what you would find in a house fire.”

Because of this, they couldn’t apply water to the fire until the high voltage line could be “rendered safe,” according to the post.

A power company got to the scene at about 5:48 p.m. Fire crews were then able to use two hose lines to put out the fire, officials said.
