Artist resident leaves his mark with unique windows in Ohio home for sale. See it
A home with a very special something designed and left by a former artist has landed on the real estate market in Columbus, Ohio, for $2.2 million.
And that special thing? The windows.
“Rare double lot - the second largest lot in German Village! One of a kind three story brick home overlooks the pond on Schiller Park. Art glass windows by renowned artist Von Gerichten,” the listing on Realtor.com.
More accurately put — stained glass windows.
Theodore Von Gerichten and his brother Ludwig operated their studio, the Von Gerichten Art Glass Company, in Ohio in the late 1800s and into the early 20th century. Theodore designed the windows in the four-bedroom, 3.5-plus-bathroom, that are the main focal point in the house today along with the front door that has his initials, Art Makes Columbus reports.
Other features on the home include:
Updated kitchen
Views
2.5-car garage
New slate roof
Greenhouse
There is also an epic 2,500 bottle wine cellar that looks like a work of art, as well. Von Gerichten doesn’t get credit for this one though, as it is an addition by the current owners, the listing says.
The listing is held by Marilyn Vutech, a partner in Vutech ∣ Ruff real estate firm and Cutler Real Estate.
