A woman had a ‘”random thought” while grocery shopping that inspired her to purchase an Arkansas lottery ticket.

The shopper, identified only as Sandra R. of North Little Rock, had discussed the lottery with her friend and it stuck in her mind, the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery said in a March 26 news release.

After running errands, she used her remaining $3 to buy a ticket.

She was shocked to see her $75,000 winnings after scratching off her ticket the next day, she told officials.

“No, this has got to be a mistake,” she thought.

Shortly after she scratched off her ticket, two friends visited to find Sandra with “her face completely red,” one friend told officials. “We thought something was wrong.”

Because Sandra is known to joke, her friends were skeptical when she shared the news. Eventually, they celebrated.

One friend even accompanied her when Sandra went to claim her prize, officials said.

Sandra plans to make a few purchases for herself and start a college fund for her granddaughter, she told officials.
