A man argued with a McDonald’s worker over not receiving sauce with his order, then he attacked a man who tried to intervene, Florida authorities said.

Wesley Bullock, 48, approached a McDonald’s drive-thru window on foot on April 16, according to an arrest affidavit from the Zephyrhills Police Department.

McClatchy News reached out to his attorney for comment April 23 but did not receive an immediate response.

Witnesses told police that Bullock began screaming and cursing at a server at the window about not getting sauce, when a bystander approached and told Bullock to calm down, police said.

Then Bullock punched him, and the two men began to fight until another employee broke it up, according to a detective. The two men are shown on camera leaving in their vehicles, with Bullock following the other man, police said.

The bystander told police he drove to a gas station next door, then Bullock cut him off and got out of his car carrying a gun, according to police.

Bullock reached into the other man’s vehicle and tried to shoot him in the head, but the gun didn’t go off, the man told law enforcement. They began to fight over the gun, and the man told police “he believed he was going to die,” according to the report.

Video shows the altercation happening through the window of the driver’s side, the detective said.

During the fight, Bullock struck the other man in the forehead with the gun and shot his finger, according to police. Eventually, the man was able to throw Bullock out of the car and drive away, police said after watching surveillance footage.

Two McDonald’s workers identified Bullock out of a lineup, and he was charged with armed burglary and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, records show.

Zephyrhills is in Pasco County, about a 30-mile drive northeast from downtown Tampa.
